Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, with specialized knowledge in orthodontic procedures and patient care. As an Orthodontic Dental Assistant, you will support orthodontists in delivering high-quality treatment, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining efficient clinic operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to transformative smile makeovers while working in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Our offices are efficiently run; our spaces are clean and modern; our staff is a warm, friendly, tight-knit group. One to three days per week potentially available. •Friendly demeanor required and Spanish-speaking is a strong plus •Duties Prepare treatment rooms with appropriate instruments and materials for orthodontic procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Assist orthodontists during various procedures, including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings, utilizing chairside assisting skills. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans, to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning. Educate patients on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices tailored for pediatric dentistry and general dentistry cases. Requirements Proven experience as a dental assistant with a focus on orthodontics; prior experience in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry is advantageous. Familiarity with dental assisting certifications and continuing education requirements for orthodontic practice. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize patient care efficiency. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients about treatment plans and oral health maintenance strategies.
