The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques. Take digital dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize EMR systems (Dentrix) for patient management and scheduling. Perform vital signs checks and assist in medical imaging as required. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Support pediatric dentistry efforts by creating a welcoming environment for younger patients. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to manage appointments and patient flow efficiently. Proficiency in using 3D scanners (iTero) and laser whitening equipment. Stay informed about advancements in dental technology. Requirements Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred. Proficiency in using EMR systems, particularly Dentrix. Proficiency in using 3D scanners (iTero). Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures is beneficial. Ability to perform four-handed dentistry effectively. Experience with medical documentation, records management, and coding is an asset. Strong communication skills to interact positively with patients of all ages. A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Certification or training in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory.
