In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray imaging) while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols to protect patient confidentiality and minimize radiation exposure. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and well-being. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions related to dental terminology or procedures. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and maintaining organized medical documentation. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Proficiency in dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and handling medical imaging equipment like 3D scanners. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing electronic health records efficiently. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and maintain infection control standards at all times. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in general dentistry procedures preferred; ongoing professional development encouraged.
