Job Description

Overview We are looking for another orthodontic assistant to join our busy private practice in Plattsburgh, NY! Our team typically works four days per week (Mon
  • Thu) from 7:20am
  • 5pm, but we do work the occasional Friday morning. The ideal candidate would have dental experience, but we will train the right person who is dependable, has a positive attitude, a fun personality, and a willingness/ eagerness to learn. Orthodontic Assistants help us deliver great care to our patients! On

Pay is commensurate with certifications and experience. Duties Assist the orthodontist during examinations and treatments, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available. Place and remove brackets and archwires. Perform dental radiography (X-rays) and maintain accurate medical imaging records. Manage patient records by documenting treatment plans and progress notes in compliance with medical documentation standards. Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff. Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when required, ensuring precision in dental procedures. Handle administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries as a dental receptionist. Qualifications Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Certification in dental assisting or relevant qualifications is desirable.
