Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant in a Periodontal practice in Sayville. Responsibilities Assist Periodontist during a variety of treatment procedures by preparing instruments, materials, and equipment with precision. Maintain accurate and confidential medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix Ascend, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Take and develop dental X-rays while practicing strict aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Provide chairside support with vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and other clinical tasks essential for comprehensive patient care. Support patient management by answering questions, scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, and explaining procedures clearly. Implement infection control protocols to uphold the highest standards of safety and cleanliness within the clinic environment. Qualifications Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with dental assisting in a Periodontal office . Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology is essential for effective communication and procedure support. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix Ascend. Experience with dental radiography (X-ray) techniques and 3D scanners is advantageous. Understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety. A positive attitude combined with the ability to work with others is a must .
