The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during various procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the clinic. Your role is vital in creating a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and confident in their dental care experience. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols. Assist dentists during procedures such as examinations, restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments with precision and efficiency. Take X-ray while adhering to safety standards and proper technique. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a clear field during procedures. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and answer their questions to promote overall dental health. Perform vital signs measurement and medical documentation when necessary to support comprehensive patient assessments. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed. Maintain a sterile environment using aseptic techniques and ensure all infection control standards are strictly followed. Stay updated on advancements in dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment to enhance diagnostic capabilities. Skills Proficiency with dental software applications such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing patient information and medical documentation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry settings while maintaining high standards of aseptic technique. Knowledge of infection control protocols and sterilization processes to ensure patient safety at all times. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, fostering trust and comfort. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment practicing four-handed dentistry for optimal efficiency. Familiarity with medical imaging tools such as 3D scanners for advanced diagnostics is advantageous. Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality in handling medical records.
