• Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Dental Assistant to oversee and coordinate daily clinical operations within our dental practice.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in dental assisting, with a focus on pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, and specialized procedures such as prosthodontics and endodontics. As the Lead Dental Assistant, you will serve as a vital team leader, ensuring efficient patient flow, maintaining high standards of infection control, and supporting the dental team in delivering exceptional patient care. Your expertise in dental technology, medical documentation, and clinic management will be essential to fostering a positive and productive environment. Duties Supervise dental assisting staff, providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to promote professional development. Coordinate patient scheduling and manage the flow of clinical procedures to optimize efficiency and patient satisfaction. Assist with chairside procedures across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Operate and maintain dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices while ensuring compliance with safety standards. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix or Epic to ensure accurate documentation of patient histories, treatment plans, and medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Support the dental team by performing vital signs assessments, taking X-rays, and preparing patients for procedures. Oversee inventory management of dental supplies and ensure proper sterilization procedures are followed for all instruments. Collaborate with the dental reception team to facilitate smooth patient check-in/out processes and handle administrative tasks related to medical coding and documentation. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with a strong background in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or specialty areas such as prosthodontics or endodontics. Extensive knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Proficiency with EMR systems including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding is advantageous. Experience operating dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical documentation. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise staff effectively while fostering a collaborative team environment. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of sleep and TMJ is a plus; certification in radiography or other relevant credentials are advantageous.
