Dental Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical assisting, patient care, and dental procedures, with a focus on delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Your role is vital in creating a welcoming atmosphere while maintaining efficiency and professionalism throughout all clinical operations. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for scheduled procedures. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform chairside assisting with aseptic techniques, vital signs measurement, and maintaining an organized clinical environment. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to promote understanding and cooperation. Support infection control protocols by adhering to strict sterilization procedures and maintaining a sterile field at all times. Collaborate effectively with the dental team to facilitate four-handed dentistry for improved efficiency and patient comfort. Requirements Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing medical documentation and records. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners with precision. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry cases is preferred; familiarity with pediatrics is advantageous. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in chairside assisting, medical coding, or related fields is desirable but not mandatory.
