In this role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to a positive patient experience and the overall success of our practice. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, friendly setting dedicated to oral health excellence. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is in proper working order using aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures such as cleanings, restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and efficiency. Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, while maintaining strict infection control standards. Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by managing dental terminology, medical documentation, vital signs, and medical coding as needed for comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer their questions with clarity and professionalism. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and coordinating with the dental reception team to optimize workflow. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dental receptionists and other staff. Certification or training in dental assisting preferred; must be committed to ongoing professional development in areas like endodontics or prosthodontics.
