Position Overview:
Magnolia Dental is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our team. The EFDA will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care by performing advanced clinical tasks under the supervision of our dentists. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong technical skills and a passion for patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform expanded functions such as placing and finishing restorative materials, including fillings, under the supervision of the dentist. Assist dentists during procedures by preparing and passing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a sterile field. Take and pour impressions for models and fabricate temporary crowns or other dental appliances. Place sealants and fluoride treatments as needed. Take digital X-rays and ensure they are properly recorded in the patient's chart. Provide chairside assistance and patient education, ensuring a comfortable experience for each patient. Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms in compliance with infection control protocols. Document patient care and treatment in the practice management system accurately and efficiently. Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and post-operative care instructions. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and exceptional service.
Qualifications:
Current EFDA certification in the state of Ohio. Radiology certification required. Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or EFDA preferred. Proficiency in taking impressions, placing restorations, and other expanded functions. Knowledge of dental software and digital X-rays. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a strong attention to detail. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to providing outstanding patient care.
