Overview Join our dynamic dental team as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant and play a vital role in creating beautiful, confident smiles! Responsibilities Assist orthodontists during various procedures, including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to ensure infection control standards are met. Take and develop dental X-rays, including panoramic and 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Edge, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes. Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices tailored for pediatric dentistry and general dentistry needs Qualifications Proven experience as a dental assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in orthodontics preferred.. Proficiency with dental software such as Ortho 2 Edge Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners accurately and safely. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients of all ages about their treatment plans. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
