Job Description
Hopewell Health Centers is a nationally accredited federally qualified health and community mental health center with 23 sites across TEN counties throughout Southeastern Ohio (Athens, Franklin, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Meigs, Perry, Ross, Vinton, and Washington). We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant to join our Nelsonville, OH team. As a Dental Assistant , you will perform duties within the scope of education and experience and under the direct supervision of the Site Manager/Dental Provider. Some of the Dental Assistant's responsibilities include but are not limited to: Competently operates standard dental equipment which may include autoclave, air/water syringe, suction, x-ray unit, dental units and other office specific equipment Completes in-house lab procedures as determined by the Dentist which may include: pouring up and trimming models, making biterims, making bleaching splints, making night guards, and making custom trays. Administer oral medications, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections per Dentist's orders Takes patient's vital signs and radiographs as needed for the exam. These may include a Panorex, a full mouth series, Bitewings, periapical or occlusal radiographs. Understands and accurately communicates instructions, information, and/or concepts according to the Dentist's orders utilizing proper dental terminology and grammar. Other duties as assigned by supervisor What do we look for in our Dental Assistants?? Eligible to work in the United States HS Diploma or Equivalent General operator's license in dental radiology is preferred upon hire but not necessary. You will, however, be required to obtain this license within 6 months of hire. Certification in Dental Assisting is preferred or equivalent experience Requires current CPR/BLS What are some of the benefits of working for Hopewell Health Centers?
