Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygiene Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care! This energetic position offers the opportunity to support dental professionals in providing comprehensive oral health services, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinic experience. As a Dental Hygiene Assistant, you will be instrumental in assisting with chairside procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Duties Prepare hygiene rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterile and ready for use Take dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners and traditional radiography equipment Monitor vital signs and observe patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and well-being Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Open Dental, ensuring accurate documentation of treatment details and medical history Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques and maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and answer questions related to dental terminology and procedures Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry. Familiarity with dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and managing dental instruments Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology Ability to accurately perform vital signs measurement and assist with medical imaging procedures Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient confidentiality at all times Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist when coordinating appointments or explaining procedures to patients This paid position offers the chance to grow your skills within a supportive team dedicated to excellence in dental care. $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
