Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary (EFDA)

Responsibilities:

• Assist the dentist during dental procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
• Take and develop dental x-rays
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
• Maintain accurate patient records and update dental coding as necessary
• Provide assistance with patient assessment and treatment planning
• Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring models and trimming impressions
• Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment

Requirements:

• EFDA Licensure (Required)
• X-ray (Required)
• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role
• Knowledge of Practice Management software systems preferred
• Familiarity with dental coding and billing procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
• Certification in dental assisting is preferred, but not required.
