Dental Assistant Michael F Alspaugh, DDS, PC Edmond, OK Job Details Full-time $18 - $25 an hour 9 hours ago Benefits Travel reimbursement Paid training Continuing education credits Dental insurance Tuition reimbursement Paid time off On-the-job training Uniform allowance Employee discount Opportunities for advancement Paid sick time Qualifications HIPAA Clinic experience Dental terminology Dentrix Patient interaction Dental clinic experience Full Job Description Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Take digital dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EMR systems such as Dentrix) Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and dental terminology in a clear and professional manner Manage medical documentation and records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting with billing or coding as needed Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards Experience and/or willingness to learn to operate and maintain Cerac and 3D printing equipment Desire to learn new techniques Placing gingival retraction cord, glazing and firing crowns. Same day crowns (Cerac) Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix; experience with dental coding is a plus Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, medical imaging, and vital signs measurement Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles and working with pediatric patients is desirable Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently using four-handed dentistry techniques Excellent communication skills for patient education regarding dental procedures and oral health care Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times Prior dental clinic experience required; familiarity with general dentistry procedures including endodontics and prosthodontics.
