Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking to add a third dental assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, be a team player, have excellent communication skills, and have a commitment to patient care and safety. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the clinic. Your role is vital in delivering high-quality dental services while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures. Assist dentists during various treatments, including chairside assisting with procedures in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) using proper aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Operate digital imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools to support diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of patient information, medical history, and treatment notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary, providing support for pediatric dentistry and other specialized care. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment, adhering to infection control standards and OSHA guidelines. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing patient flow efficiently. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions regarding procedures or billing processes. Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology, medical coding, and understanding of anatomy relevant to dental procedures. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics preferred. Hands-on experience with dental assisting techniques, including four-handed dentistry and chairside assistance. Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical records effectively. Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures within a healthcare setting. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment, including X-ray machines and 3D scanners, with precision. Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical documentation standards. Experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous to provide compassionate care tailored to children's needs. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy relevant to oral health, and medical terminology used in dental practice settings.
