In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient comfort, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and safety. Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including digital imaging and 3D scans, while maintaining patient safety standards aligned with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; document treatment details accurately and efficiently. Perform vital signs assessments and medical history updates to support comprehensive patient care. Support front desk operations by handling dental receptionist duties, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation. Maintain clinical supplies inventory, sterilize instruments, and uphold infection control standards across the clinic. Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions using clear dental terminology tailored to pediatric patients when applicable. Qualifications Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent licensure; prior experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; experience with EMR systems is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical documentation standards. Skilled in taking X-rays (including digital imaging) and operating 3D scanners safely and effectively. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control procedures, and aseptic technique. Experience supporting chairside assisting in various specialties like prosthodontics or endodontics is a plus. Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and support medical imaging procedures when needed.
