Job Description

Overview We are seeking an upbeat and dedicated Full/Part time Dental Assistant to join our specialized pediatric dental team! The ideal candidate will possess a passion for pediatric dentistry and demonstrate exceptional chairside assisting skills. This role involves supporting dentists in providing high-quality care to young patients, along with ensuring a comfortable and safe environment. Experience with EMR systems such as Fuse is a plus, along with knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations, is highly valued. The successful candidate will be committed to infection control, aseptic techniques, and maintaining accurate medical documentation and records. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow within a dynamic dental practice focused on pediatric care. Responsibilities Assist the pediatric dentist during various procedures including exams, cleanings, restorations, extractions, and general anesthesia cases Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols Take and develop X-rays Record detailed notes and treatment planning during patient appointments Provide patient education on dental health, hygiene practices, and post-treatment care Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to aseptic techniques Manage medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Support the dental team as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow Experience Prior experience in dental assisting within a pediatric or general dentistry setting is preferred Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and medical documentation standards is essential Experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, and medical imaging equipment Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge related to dentistry, and medical coding practices Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach toward pediatric patients EFDA highly recommended
