Responsibilities Assist orthodontists during procedures such as bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings with precision and efficiency Prepare chairs by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace following infection control protocols Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while ensuring patient safety and comfort Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices tailored to pediatric dentistry needs Support the team with administrative tasks including scheduling appointments. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, medical documentation standards, and medical coding to ensure seamless communication within the fromt desk. Qualifications Experience as a Dental Assistant with a focus on orthodontics preferred. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, aseptic technique, and infection control measure Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental procedures Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy at all times Excellent communication skills to educate patients and collaborate effectively with team members Embark on a fulfilling career where your skills make a real difference!
