At Advanced Pediatric Dentistry of Hermiston our Doctors are specialist in pediatric dentistry and utilize state of the art technology. As a dental assistant you will work chair side the dentist to promote good dental and general health through education and patient interaction. We are looking for an enthusiastic dental assistant to join our team. This position is full time and temporary with the possibility of becoming permanent. Why Should You Apply? Responsibilities Include:
Prepare patient for dental hygiene by welcoming, soothing, seating and draping patient. Examine patients' mouth for oral health, OHI, and provide the following treatment as instructed and approved by the dentist: Perform visual exams Perform Prophy Polish restorations with slow speed hand piece Remove excess cement with hand instruments Take x-rays and intra oral photos Apply sealants Arrest dental decal by applying fluorides and other cavity-preventing agents Mix filling compounds Take impressions of teeth Answer questions and provide parents, or guardians with information about patients' oral health, treatment, and hygiene. Communicate and work alongside dental staff to provide the patient with high level of care. Requirements/Competencies Current Oregon Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients, parents, doctors and staff, in person and on the telephone Ability to work on multiple projects at once Bilingual is a plus.
