The ideal candidate will support the dentist and hygienist by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where clinical skills, patient communication, and adherence to safety protocols are essential. Prior experience with Dentrix is recommended but not required. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontic treatments, and prosthodontics. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining strict aseptic techniques. Take dental X-rays while ensuring patient safety and comfort; operate 3D scanners as needed. Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in dental software. Manage dental documentation, records, and coding in compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient experience. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments and adhering to OSHA guidelines. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and assisting with dental reception duties when necessary. Ensure all clinical activities align with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical imaging protocols. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting; familiarity with dental assisting procedures is essential. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, etc. experience with dental documentation is preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control practices within a dental environment. Ability to operate X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and perform vital signs assessment accurately. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical procedures across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is highly desirable; additional certifications in radiography or pediatrics are a plus.
