We are looking for an experienced dental assistant that enjoys teeth and likes to have fun and work as a team. We have a long standing patient base and a dedicated team who cares for all our patients. Eaglesoft knowledge is helpful but not required. Sets up operatories and portable unit equipment and ensures that instruments, supplies, and equipment are immediately available for patient care. Provides direct clinical assistance to dentists and dental hygienists; performs 4-handed dentistry, including passing instruments for operative and oral surgery procedures and mixing filling materials; seats and positions patients, anticipates provider needs during treatment; triages patients with urgent needs. Performs expanded duty functions, including child and adult rubber cup oral prophylaxis, mixing and applying pit and fissure sealant (sealant certificate required) and polishing amalgam restorations; may perform other expanded duty functions as assigned, including placing temporary restorative material in teeth under the direction and review of a dentist, placing and removing matrix retainers for alloy and composite restorations, removing temporary crowns and cleaning teeth in preparation for final cementation, performing preliminary fitting of crowns . Takes alginate impressions and pour models; contacts other laboratories for pick-ups; performs limited laboratory procedures. Cleans operatories following Center for Disease Control and OSHA guidelines; cleans and sterilizes instruments; maintains strict chain of infection control; performs routine maintenance on dental equipment; removes and mails filled sharps containers to laboratory; wears appropriate personal protective equipment; Uses digital X-ray equipment and takes diagnostic radiographs in a timely manner.
