Responsibilities Assist dentists during general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry procedures with precision and professionalism. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging to assist in accurate diagnoses while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring all medical documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology, assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques, and monitoring vital signs when necessary. Coordinate with the dental reception team to schedule appointments, verify insurance information, and handle patient inquiries professionally. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, medical imaging, X-ray procedures, and vital signs monitoring. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation efficiently. Strong knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy, and dental terminology essential for supporting diverse dental procedures. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with children in a clinical setting. Ability to perform detailed medical coding for billing purposes while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Understanding of endodontics, prosthodontics, general dentistry procedures, and the use of advanced tools like 3D scanners. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist when interacting with patients and team members to ensure seamless clinic operations.
