Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our dental professionals. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and the ability to assist in various aspects of patient management in a clinical setting. Duties Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing chairside support and ensuring a smooth workflow. Perform X-rays and other diagnostic imaging as needed, adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize EMR systems, including Open Dental, for efficient patient management and record-keeping. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Monitor vital signs and assist with the administration of anesthesia as required. Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Collaborate with dental receptionists to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively. Stay updated on advancements in dental technology, including 3D scanning techniques. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Proficiency in dental assisting with knowledge of general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Familiarity with medical terminology and coding is advantageous. Experience with medical imaging techniques and four-handed dentistry is preferred. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable. Strong understanding of anatomy related to dental health. Ability to work effectively within a team while maintaining a patient-centered approach.
