Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your energy and dedication will directly contribute to providing exceptional patient care. In this vital role, you will support dentists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic. Job Type:
Full-time Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures such as cleanings, restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging while maintaining proper radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient check-in and check-out processes. Monitor vital signs and assist with pediatric dentistry procedures to ensure patient comfort and safety. Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization techniques and adherence to OSHA guidelines to ensure a safe clinical environment. Use dental terminology accurately when documenting procedures or communicating with team members. Operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners and intraoral cameras to enhance diagnostic accuracy. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic role with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding related to dental procedures. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent patient care. Certification in X-ray technology required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or endodontics are advantageous. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
