Dental Assistant

Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for procedures. Assist dentists during a variety of treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners while adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records efficiently using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like OpenDental, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding. Monitor vital signs and assist in medical assessments when necessary to ensure patient safety throughout procedures. Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene practices to promote long-term dental health. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and maintaining organized medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures and terminology. Proficiency with EMR systems including

experience with medical coding and documentation is highly desirable. Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and dental terminology to ensure safe practice standards. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles and experience caring for pediatric patients is a plus. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with the dental team and provide compassionate patient care. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology required..
