; Posting Details Position Details Title Clinical Assistant Professor, Dental Hygiene Appointment Status Non-Tenure Track Department IU Indianapolis Division of Comprehensive Care - School of Dentistry Location Indianapolis Position Summary Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) invites applications for the position of clinical assistant professor to teach in our Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene program on the IU Indianapolis campus. This is a 0.80 FTE, 12-month, non-tenure track position. This full-time position requires 1) delivery of didactic, laboratory, pre-clinical, and clinical instruction to dental hygiene students with a focus in courses such as clinical practice, pharmacology, nutrition and periodontics. 2) Other important expectations include development and updating of courses, student advising, academic scholarship and service commitments (e.g. participation in university and professional association committees and activities). With faculty dedicated to and focused on each of our students' maximum development and growth, our Indianapolis program ranks among the best in the nation in student pass rates on clinical, state and national examinations. The candidate we are seeking will come with a passion for student growth and achievement, academic and clinical excellence, proficiency in didactic instruction, and experience in interprofessional education, community collaborations, and strengthening a culture of respect and belonging. Basic Qualifications Position Requirements:
For consideration, applicants must hold one of the following degrees: a Master of Science (MS) in Dental Hygiene, Master's degree in Education, or a related field. Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of dental hygiene clinical practice experience and hold a current, unrestricted Indiana dental hygiene license. In addition, applicants must have at least four years of experience teaching pharmacology and nutrition to dental hygiene students and provide documented evidence of their teaching experience and effectiveness.
