In this vital role, you will assist dentist during procedures, manage patient comfort, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, supportive clinic dedicated to excellence in dental health. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures within the general dentistry scope, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold OSHA regulated infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray license a must!) while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols. Manage patient records using EMR systems through OpenDental, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes. Provide chairside assistance by taking vital signs, explaining procedures to patients, and assisting with medical imaging or 3D scanner technology when needed. Support administrative tasks including dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while following infection control protocols and anatomy knowledge for safe practice. Proficiency with EMR systems (OpenDental) for managing medical records and documentation. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and ADA coding practices relevant to dental procedures. Experience with X-ray techniques, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools used in modern dentistry. (valid PA radiology license a must) Completion of a certified Dental Assisting Program. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and anatomy relevant to dental assisting. Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and support procedures with patience and professionalism. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist and team player capable of supporting general dentistry operations seamlessly.
