Job Description

We are looking for a dental assistant who will make the our more efficient and pleasant for patients! We are looking for someone with the ability to maintain organization and professional patient communication in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal skills and a knack for customer service is a plus! The Dental Assistant performs a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties, such as preparing the treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and assisting during procedures. He or she makes patients as comfortable as possible in the dental chair, prepares them for treatment, obtains/verifies their dental records, and instructs patients on postoperative and general oral health care. The Dental Assistant may prepare materials for impressions and restorations, as well as take dental x-rays . In addition, he or she helps with occasionally with office duties such as scheduling and confirming appointments, receiving patients, and ordering dental supplies and materials. Responsibilities Welcome customers in the dental office Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed Sterilize instruments according to regulations Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked Schedule appointments Maintain accurate patient records Skills Some experience as dental assistant, or recently graduated dental student--If you do not have experience and would like to apply for this job, please tell us why dental assisting is of interest to you Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of health & safety regulations Good computer skills--knowledge of intraoral scanners is a plus! Excellent communication and people skills Attention to detail Well-organized and reliable High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred Additional certification or training is an asset
