Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your energy and expertise will help create a welcoming environment for patients seeking exceptional oral healthcare. In this vital role, you will support dentists in delivering high-quality treatments while ensuring patient comfort and safety. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to the smooth operation of our busy dental practice, making a positive impact on every patient's smile. Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all tools and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners, adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Dentrix and Eaglesoft efficiently, documenting treatment details accurately and maintaining comprehensive medical documentation. Support patient check-in and check-out processes as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information and updating medical records with precision. Perform chairside assisting with aseptic techniques, vital signs measurement, and anatomy knowledge to support safe and effective patient care. Implement infection control procedures in accordance with OSHA standards, ensuring the clinic maintains a sterile environment at all times. Utilize dental terminology confidently when communicating with patients and team members to facilitate clear understanding of procedures and instructions. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry, pediatrics, prosthodontics, or endodontics. Proficiency in dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and managing medical records using EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is essential. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and anatomy is required to ensure compliance and patient safety. Familiarity with medical coding and documentation within Epic or similar platforms enhances your ability to accurately record treatments. Experience with medical imaging tools such as 3D scanners or digital X-ray systems will set you apart. Strong understanding of dental terminology combined with excellent communication skills will help you effectively support both patients and team members. A background in pediatrics or working with children is a valuable asset for providing compassionate care tailored to young patients.
