Job Description
Overview Join our dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare. In this role, you will support dentists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel cared for and confident in their dental experience. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment, maintaining strict infection control protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Xray certified prefered. Take digital dental X-rays and medical imaging such as 3D scans, adhering to safety standards and HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records), documenting medical history, vital signs, and treatment details accurately. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology efficiently and supporting procedures with aseptic technique and anatomy knowledge. Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions to promote ongoing dental wellness. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, infection control, and aseptic technique. Experience working with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively (Xray certification is preferred and will reflect in pay) Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Must pass a background check and child abuse clearances. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with the dental team and provide compassionate patient care.
