Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Part-Time Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will help create a welcoming environment for patients seeking exceptional dental care. In this role, you will support the delivery of Endodontic specialty dental services by assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient comfort, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will be vital in maintaining high standards of infection control, medical documentation, and patient care. We are willing to train the right person. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of procedures in endodontics, ensuring all tools and materials are prepared and sterile. Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices while adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Take and develop X-rays, ensuring accurate positioning and safety protocols are followed to protect patients from radiation exposure. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Epic, ensuring all medical documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with HIPAA regulations. Support front desk duties as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining organized medical records. Perform vital signs assessments and assist with chairside assisting to promote patient comfort during procedures. Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by following infection control protocols and sterilization procedures in accordance with OSHA standards. Demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to facilitate effective communication within the team. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous; experience with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes within a healthcare environment. Hands-on experience with customer service, patient care and dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting, sterilization of instruments, and taking X-rays. Understanding of dental terminology related to prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatrics, and other specialties enhances your ability to support diverse patient needs. Ability to communicate effectively using medical terminology and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is preferred; ongoing professional development in dental assisting or related fields is encouraged to stay current with industry best practices.
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
