Job Description

Our busy dental office is looking for an energetic and self-motivated dental assistant to join our dental family as a full time team member. We are a fast paced, privately owned General Dental Practice that is committed to providing exceptional care to our patients. You will be part of our dental clinical team and will help provide high quality care to our patients. Our ideal candidate is a professional that is organized and possesses a positive attitude with outstanding customer service. Common sense is also necessary to complete the tasks and duties in our office. If you are a team player looking for a full time, Monday through Thursday position in an East York office that offers a competitive salary, PTO, health insurance and dental benefits please look no further. One to two years experience is preferred, but we will train the right candidate. X-ray certification is required.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide superior patient care and service; exhibit outstanding customer service and hospitality as well as chair side manner.
  • Record treatment information in patient records.
  • Take dental diagnostic x-rays.
  • Actively provide hand instruments and materials as needed to Dentist during exams and procedures in order to help maintain patient comfort and Dentist's efficiency.
  • Using and maintaining hazard control protocols as established by OSHA and office standards.
  • Must always represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedule and office policies.
  • Must be able to comfortably and efficiently handle multiple deadlines and task assignments.
  • Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings.
  • Assist with dental and medical emergencies according to OSHA and office procedures.
  • Maintain CPR certification.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
  • Make preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.
  • Clean and polish removable appliances.
  • Record medical and dental histories of patients.
  • Other duties and tasks, as assigned periodically.
