Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and medical documentation will help us maintain the highest standards of safety and quality. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all tools and materials are prepared efficiently. Manage patient flow by taking vital signs, recording medical history, and updating medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners to capture high-quality images necessary for diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain strict infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments to ensure patient safety. Support front desk activities by acting as a dental receptionist—scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient communication. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical documentation accurately. Qualifications Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry practices. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding is essential for accurate documentation and billing processes. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is required; experience with Epic or other medical records software is a plus. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and dental assisting procedures is critical for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines; certification in radiography preferred. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics, and collaborate with team members seamlessly.
