Job Description

Overview We are a family owned general dental practice seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for ensuring that the clinic runs smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring they are sterile and ready for use Take and develop X-rays, utilizing appropriate safety protocols Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical records, while adhering to HIPAA regulations Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including restorative, simple extractions, prosthodontic work Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care Monitor vital signs as necessary during treatments Utilize electronic systems such as Dentrix or Open Dental for patient management Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with infection control standards Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Proficiency with EMR systems, specifically Dentrix or Open Dental Knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy Experience in chairside assisting within a dental clinic setting Understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Ability to perform intra-oral scanning (Medit Scanner) is helpful Join our team to contribute to our mission of providing high-quality dental care while enhancing your skills in a supportive environment.
