Dental Assistant Providence, RI 02906 From $24 an hour - Part-time From $24 an hour - Part-time Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. Rhode Island Periodontics is looking for a full time (4 day) surgical assistant to join team. Someone who wants more than just a job, an Individual who wants to make a difference in patients lives. We have one staff working out of two locations, Johnston and Providence, which makes for an interesting work week. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm with a lunch break from 1 to 2. We offer a competitive benefit package with salary based upon experience. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols. Take and mount dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety guidelines. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient flow and assist with scheduling appointments as needed. Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions. Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging when required. Operate 3D scanners for advanced imaging techniques when necessary. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience. Requirements Strong work ethic, superb customer service skills, total team work mentality and desire to learn new skills. Must be able to multi task and work in a fast paced environment with multiple doctors. X-ray certification as well as OSHSA and HIPPA compliance a MUST.. Familiarity with dental terminology, techniques, and infection control practices. Set up trays and operatories for dental surgical procedures. Process sterilization of instruments and surgical room clean up. Knowledge of medical coding and records management is a plus. Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining patient comfort. Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients and team members. Take dental photo's, remove suture's, take dental impressions through Dandy. Restock supplies throughout the day.
