In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care in a fast-paced environment. Your expertise will support a variety of dental procedures across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics, contributing to positive patient experiences and optimal clinical outcomes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about delivering top-tier dental care while maintaining strict adherence to infection control and HIPAA regulations. Duties Assist dentist during a wide range of procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly Take high-quality X-rays and operate advanced medical imaging tools such as 3D scanners while maintaining proper safety protocols Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic with accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards Perform vital signs assessments and document medical histories to support comprehensive patient care Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed Educate patients on oral health practices using clear dental terminology and anatomy knowledge to promote ongoing oral hygiene habits Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to medical coding, record-keeping, and infection prevention Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with a focus on general dentistry or pediatric dentistry - Minimum 2+ years experience required, Preferred 5+ years Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Open Dental, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation Familiarity with X-ray procedures, medical imaging technology including 3D scanners, and chairside assisting techniques like four-handed dentistry Ability to take vital signs accurately and support comprehensive patient assessments Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times Experience working with pediatric and anxious patients is highly desirable for fostering a comforting environment Certification in radiography (X-ray) is required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or endodontics are a plus Join our team where your skills will make a meaningful difference!
