Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant, where your expertise will help transform smiles and boost confidence! In this energetic role, you will provide vital support in delivering exceptional orthodontic care, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a smooth workflow within our busy orthodontic practice. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to creating a positive experience for every patient while supporting the clinical team with chairside assistance and administrative tasks. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment dedicated to excellence in orthodontic treatment. Duties Assist orthodontists during procedures such as bracket placement, adjustments, and removal, using four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control standards. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans, while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic to document treatment plans, progress notes, and medical history accurately. Support patients by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and assisting with the collection of medical documentation related to orthodontic care. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following aseptic techniques and knowledge of dental anatomy to prevent infection. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments, update medical records, and ensure smooth patient flow throughout the clinic. Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology and general dentistry practices to assist with complex procedures like prosthodontics or endodontics when needed. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially within pediatric dentistry or orthodontics. Familiarity with dental assisting duties such as chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and maintaining infection control protocols is essential. Knowledge of EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix enhances workflow efficiency; experience with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus. Understanding of HIPAA regulations ensures compliance with patient privacy standards at all times. Strong grasp of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding supports accurate recordkeeping and communication within the team. Experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous for creating a welcoming environment for younger patients requiring orthodontic care. Join us to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to transforming smiles through innovative orthodontic solutions! We value energetic professionals committed to delivering outstanding patient care while continuously expanding their skills in a supportive setting.
