In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care across a variety of dental procedures. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and medical documentation will contribute to creating a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused office dedicated to delivering top-quality general dentistry services. Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, full mouth reconstruction, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all materials are ready for patient care. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while adhering to strict safety protocols and radiation guidelines. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix, Open Dental, and Acteon to ensure accurate documentation of patient histories, treatment plans, and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations. Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow efficiently. Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding to facilitate clear communication within the team. Uphold HIPAA privacy standards by safeguarding patient information at all times. Engage in four-handed and six-handed dentistry practices to optimize efficiency during procedures while providing excellent patient comfort. Qualifications Valid registration as a Dental Assistant with current licensure or certification recognized by state dental boards. Proven experience as a Registered Dental Assistant within a general dentistry setting. Extensive knowledge of dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, infection control, aseptic technique, and anatomy fundamentals. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Open Dental, Acteon or similar platforms for medical documentation and records management. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other imaging tools safely and effectively. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices relevant to dental clinics. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients about procedures while demonstrating empathy and professionalism. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is preferred but not required; experience working with children is a plus. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of infection control. Join our team where your skills will make a real difference!
