Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures, including but not limited to general dentistry, root canals, oral surgery, implant placement and restoration, some pediatrics dentures, and a willing attitude to learn and grow. Prepare and maintain the treatment room, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use. Follow aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety. Take dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Stay updated on medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding as it relates to dental procedures. Requirements Openness to learn. Certification or diploma in Dental Assisting from an accredited program is preferred. Certificate in X-Ray procedures and relevant safety protocols. Proficiency in infection control practices and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with Open Dental for record keeping and scheduling Understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential.
