Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all dental supplies are ready for procedures Assist dentists during various treatments including restorations, extractions, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray images) while following strict infection control and aseptic techniques Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Perform vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices to aid diagnosis and treatment planning Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist when needed, scheduling appointments, and managing patient inquiries Skills Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Open Dental, or Epic for medical documentation and records management Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry and specialized fields like prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Ability to take high-quality X-ray images while maintaining patient safety standards Familiarity with medical coding for accurate billing and insurance processing Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages, especially pediatrics Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security Embark on a rewarding journey where your skills make a real difference!
