FULL TIME DENTAL ASSISTANT
to join our dynamic dental team! In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care in a fast-paced environment. Your expertise in dental procedures, infection control, and patient communication will help create a welcoming atmosphere where patients feel cared for and confident in their treatment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in general and pediatric dentistry while working with state-of-the-art technology and a passionate team committed to excellence. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to aseptic techniques. Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging tools while maintaining proper safety protocols in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate positioning and image quality for diagnosis. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system Curve Hero documenting treatment details accurately and maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA standards. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing support as a dental receptionist when needed to schedule appointments or answer patient inquiries. Maintain infection control standards by adhering to sterilization procedures, proper disposal of sharps, and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Support the dental team with chairside assisting using advanced knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical documentation, and medical coding practices to streamline workflow. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Curve is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Must have RDA License in the State of TN. Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely; certification in radiography required. Excellent communication skills for patient interaction, including taking vital signs and explaining procedures clearly. Familiarity with dental terminology/coding and HIPAA compliance.
