We are adding a new doctor to our practice and growing our team! We are the first practice in Oak Ridge specializing in endodontics. Our aim is not only to provide much needed endodontic care to the local community and beyond, but also to set the standard in patient care and inter-disciplinary communication. We are looking for a dental assistant who can help bring this vision to life. Someone ready to learn with energy, enthusiasm, and optimism. Someone who is a strong communicator with a kind, professional demeanor. We are looking for a competent dental assistant who will make the dentist's office more efficient and pleasant for patients. You'll ensure excellent customer service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentist's shoulders. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible. Responsibilities
  • Welcome customers in the dental office
  • Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
  • Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
  • Sterilize instruments according to regulations
  • Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with notes and e-mail communication to referring doctors Skills
  • Proven experience as dental assistant
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Good computer skills, including MS word, and the ability to place, crop, and label photos in a document
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current registration as a dental assistant required
  • Additional certification or training is an asset (e.
g. EFDA)

$19.00 - $26.00 per hour
