Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional patient care by supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a smooth clinical operation. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and dental technology will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for. Duties Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality Operate digital imaging systems such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools to support diagnosis and treatment planning Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic to document patient information accurately and efficiently Monitor vital signs of patients when required and assist with medical documentation and coding for comprehensive care records Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance details Ensure compliance with all infection control protocols, including proper sterilization of instruments and maintaining a clean clinical environment Educate patients on dental terminology, procedures, and post-treatment care to enhance their understanding and comfort Requirements Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure or registration as required by state law Proven experience in dental assisting within a general or specialty practice, including pediatric dentistry preferred Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and documentation standards. We currently use OpenDental Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care Experience operating X-ray equipment and understanding of medical imaging procedures Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, team members, and healthcare providers Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy at all times Familiarity with 3D scanners and other advanced dental technology is a plus Join our team where your skills will be valued!
