In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional patient care by supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental practice. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and medical documentation will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilization procedures to ensure a safe and efficient environment for dental procedures. Assist dentists during a variety of dental treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care. Take and develop high-quality X-ray images while adhering to strict radiation safety protocols and infection control standards. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Provide patient education on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to promote understanding and cooperation. Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient evaluations. Maintain a sterile environment through aseptic techniques and proper infection control procedures to prevent cross-contamination. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone inquiries as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation efficiently. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for accurate record keeping and documentation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialties. Skilled in taking X-rays (including 3D scans), medical imaging, and performing vital signs assessments. Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes within a dental clinic setting. Ability to operate dental equipment such as a 3D scanner and manage digital medical records efficiently. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times.
