Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing instruments, maintaining suction, and providing patient comfort
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring impressions and trimming models
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following infection control guidelines
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems (Eaglesoft, Epic)
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- Current certification in CPR
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Proficient in taking digital radiographs (X-rays)
- Familiarity with dental software systems (Eaglesoft, Epic)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with dental assisting in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of dental anatomy and oral pathology
