Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. This position requires a blend of clinical expertise and excellent interpersonal skills to assist in various dental procedures while maintaining a welcoming environment for patients. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available. Perform tasks such as taking dental radiographs, applying topical anesthetics, and assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques. Maintain infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Manage patient records, including medical documentation, while adhering to HIPAA guidelines. Schedule appointments and coordinate patient flow to optimize office efficiency. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions. Monitor and record vital signs as needed during patient visits. Support pediatric dentistry efforts by creating a friendly atmosphere for younger patients. Skills Proficient in dental assisting techniques with experience in pediatric dentistry preferred. Knowledge of infection control practices and ability to implement them effectively. Familiarity with medical documentation processes and understanding of anatomy relevant to dental care. Experience with dental software systems such as Epic is a plus. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
