In this energetic role, you will support dentists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and materials, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes. Educate patients on dental terminology, procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices to foster understanding and cooperation. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and maintaining organized medical documentation. Uphold rigorous infection control standards through proper sterilization techniques and knowledge of anatomy to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry practices. Proficiency in dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, vital signs measurement, and medical coding is essential. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft enhances workflow efficiency. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality of patient information at all times. Experience with specialized areas such as prosthodontics or endodontics is a plus but not required. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques is necessary for success in this role.
