Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthetic placements, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control standards. Take and develop X-ray images while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols. Manage patient flow by checking vital signs, updating medical records, and documenting medical and dental histories accurately using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Provide comprehensive chairside support through four-handed dentistry techniques, ensuring efficiency and comfort for both patients and staff. Educate patients on treatment plans, post-operative care, and oral hygiene practices in both Spanish and English to foster understanding and compliance. Maintain a clean, organized treatment area following aseptic techniques and infection control guidelines. Support the dental reception team by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation with precision. Skills Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential for effective communication with diverse patient populations. Proficiency with Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, medical imaging, and medical coding is highly desirable. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices as well as general dentistry procedures including endodontics and prosthodontics. Ability to perform vital signs assessments accurately and support chairside assisting with aseptic technique. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
