In this vital role, you will support dentists in delivering top-quality care across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will ensure smooth clinic operations, uphold infection control standards, and enhance patient satisfaction. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment dedicated to excellence in dental care. Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthetic placements using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Record accurate medical and dental histories, vital signs, and medical documentation using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Manage patient flow by greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care to promote ongoing dental wellness. Maintain infection control protocols and adhere to OSHA standards to ensure the safety of staff and patients alike. Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic is a plus. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Experience with dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting across various specialties like pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners while maintaining safety standards. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics; capable of explaining procedures clearly and compassionately. Knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding for accurate documentation within medical records. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance requirements to safeguard patient information at all times.
